Grenache Fest brings back appreciation for the under rated red wine varietal

Swirl and sip into Grenache Fest this Spring with boutique producers from across South Australia.

The Adelaide Wine Markets are back at it again with Grenache Fest 2022 that’ll have you sipping on the most under appreciated wine going around.

While it’s not as famous as its other red wine cousins, the Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, the Grenache is still as sumptuous and certainly warrants its own festival.

Designed as a pop-up wine ‘market’, this event will connect wine lovers with small and boutique producers from all over South Australia.

Swirl and sip your glass of Grenache as you walk amongst the line up of producers, soon to be announced, listening to live music and enjoying gourmet food.

Under appreciated yet delicious, the event celebrates this versatile and humble wine grape as you wander with a wine in hand across the floor of the Market Shed on Holland.

If last years event was anything to go by, this years event will certainly be a cracker that will set the scene for Spring festivals for 2022.

Notable producers that featured last year included Barossa Wine Cartel, Chaffey Bros. Wine Co and Maxwell wines.

With that extensive list of producers showcasing their Grenache gems, the 2022 line up is bound to wet your whistle.

While it’s originally a Spanish wine, Grenache is widely grown throughout wine regions around the world, including South Australia.

You’ll have the opportunity to purchase wine on the day and producers will even brief you on how to best enjoy the underrated wine.

Although it’s grown around the world and blended in some of your favourite local wines, there’s a good chance you will learn all about and appreciate the humble Grenache grape after this festival.

The versatile grape has been a silent partner for many other more celebrated varietals, and now it’s finally getting its moment in the spotlight.

Ticket price includes a tasting glass and all tastings.
