Approximately 200 guests are expected to attend the Jim Barry High Tea, featuring special guest Glenn McGrath, on Sunday 15th May 2022 at Clare Valley, Watervale. Proceeds from the event will raise much needed funds for the McGrath Foundation, which funds specialist McGrath Breast Care nurses across Australia.
This will be the first time McGrath Foundation Co-founder & President, Glenn McGrath and CEO Holly Masters, will visit the Clare Valley. This exciting event, which is part of the Clare Valley SCA Gourmet Week, is the first of its kind for Jim Barry Wines.
The event builds on the three-year partnership between Jim Barry Wines and the McGrath Foundation which was announced in November 2021. The winery produced an exclusive Rose for the McGrath Foundation, with $2 from every bottle sold helping to fund a specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurse in South Australia for three years.
Set on the picturesque lawns of clos Clare, guests will hear from Glenn McGrath as he talks about the inspiring work of the McGrath Foundation, while enjoying a range of delectable high tea delights and wines from Jim Barry Wines.
Proceeds from every ticket, as well as a major raffle on the day, will be donated directly to the Foundation to help ensure no one goes through breast cancer without care.
Olivia Hoffmann-Barry, of Jim Barry Wines, said the Jim Barry High Tea with special guest Glenn McGrath is going to be an event not to be missed.
“We are thrilled to host this prestigious event in the Clare Valley,” she said. “We are very proud of our work with the McGrath Foundation and are delighted to have them join us for this auspicious event. Through our partnership, we are not only helping to raise vital funds for breast care nurses, but also awareness of the disease.
“It will be an honour to host Glenn McGrath in Clare, giving our wonderful community the opportunity to hear from him in person, as he shares his remarkable journey with the McGrath Foundation. It is our pleasure to host an event that will not only allow us to make a difference in the lives of those experiencing breast cancer, but also showcase the very best food, wine and entertainment that the Clare Valley has to offer. We have a great day in store for our guests.”
McGrath Breast Care Nurses provide support from the time of diagnosis including treatments, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy and reconstruction alongside ongoing practical support and psychological support for patients and families.
The McGrath Foundation currently funds 171 McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia.
With 1 in 7 Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer by the age of 85, McGrath Breast Care Nurses provide vital care and support to those who need it most.
