Friday the 3rd July saw the launch of the Mappinga Friday Lunch Series as part of the Adelaide Hills Land of the Long Lunch promotion at the picturesque Maximilian’s Restaurant in the Adelaide Hills.
We were lucky enough to join special guests, including media, bloggers and photographers, to experience the amazing menu. We were treated to three phenomenally put together courses, that were perfectly matched with some of the world’s best wine (lucky us)!
As a part of this special offer that you can now experience at Maximilian’s every Friday, you get to taste the award winning Sidewood Estate 2013 Mappinga Shiraz, which was recently voted the world’s best at the Decanter World Wine Awards (we happen to agree). The Shiraz is featured on the menu and is, along with a few other of Sidewood’s fabulous wines, perfectly paired with the food.
Now what we all came for, the food!
Course One was a beautiful piece of South Australian pink snapper served with South Australian squid, citrus zucchini, charred baby onion and veloute, paired wonderfully with the Sidewood Estate Mappinga Reserve Sauvignon Blanc.
Course Two was Murray Valley honey glazed pork cheek, Adelaide Hills apple and radish, toasted sesame, sticky Pedro Ximinex caramel jus (GF) which was paired beautifully with Sidewood Estate’s Mappinga Reserve Chardonnay.
Finally, Course Three saw a Limestone Coast sirloin with truffled parsnip and local forest mushrooms paired with that award winning Sidewood Estate Mapping Shiraz!
You too could experience this beautiful lunchtime experience at Maximilian’s, for more information on this offer (plus their other current offer), check out our other stories:
