You guessed it – Saint Patrick's Day is just around the corner!
The Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig – colloquially St. Paddy's Day or simply Paddy's Day, is an annual feast day that celebrates Saint Patrick (circa AD 385–461), the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on the 17th March.
The day is a national holiday of Ireland, a bank holiday in Northern Ireland and a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland. In the USA, United Kingdom, Australia & New Zealand it is widely celebrated and often used as an excuse to claim some distant Irish heritage.
There are many Irish themed pubs in Adelaide that will be celebrating on the 17th, come to think of it there will most likely be many regular pubs and bars also getting involved with lots of green beer and renditions of Danny Boy.
