Dripping with exotic flavours and liquid libations, the Hades Hula House is hosting another Tropical Trivia night!

Surrounded by palm trees, carvings and bamboo, the beachside tiki bar is the perfect summer hideout to soak up the hot weather.

Self-described as “raucous, rambunctious & rum-fuelled”, the mid-week trivia nights are be hosted by drag queens Kleo Fox and Tina Peechez once a month for a couple hours of “tropical fun and frivolity”.

Hades Hula House owner and powerhouse Abby Roennfeldt said when the charity trivia night concept was presented to her, she loved the idea.

“A couple of Queens came to me with the idea to raise money for mental health charities each month,” Abbey said.

“They find some brilliant charities to support and we go from there.”

The Hades ladies said $2 from every ticket will be donated to a selected mental health charity.

Hosted by the Queens on the first Wednesday of every month, there are 4 rounds of trivia and multiple prizes on offer.

“A bunch of local businesses have donated some prizes, including Woodside Tyrepower, Nip of Courage, and us here at Hades,” Abby said.

After trivia, guests will also be treated to some drag performances, adding even more excitement to the mix!

As your eyes are dazzled and delighted by the night’s entertainment, let your taste buds explode with a super unique menu, inspired by the flavours of Hawaii, Asia and Mexico.

Start with some Pupu (Hawaiian bite-sized appetisers), fill up with burgers, tacos, or the ultimate fish finger sanga, then finish with Mea ‘Ono (something sweet or delicious – A.K.A dessert!).

There’s deep fried ice-cream to enjoy as well. Yum!

The Hades ladies have also said that there are vegetarian, vegan, gluten free options available.

And cocktails! Did we mention cocktails? The in-house cocktail list features more than 20 classic and modern recipes, including some Hades exclusive flavours.

Abby was named SA’s Best Bartender in The Advertiser last year, so we’re sure she knows what she’s talking about.

Be sure to soak up the good vibes while sipping on a Ni’ihau Negroni, a Knick Knack Krak-A-Lack made with Kraken Rum, or even a Lemon Drop fashioned with Stonepine Distillery Gin. Pick your poison!

The event will be outside and seated, so it will be COVID-friendly. As the outside area lines a public footpath, this event is also wheelchair accessible.

The next tropical trivia night is on Wednesday 2nd February, from 7pm to 9pm. Tickets are $12 and can be found on Facebook and hadeshulahouse.com.

Find Hades Hula House at 52 Semaphore Road, Semaphore SA 5019.
