Gilbert Place comes alive with an epic street party for World Gin Day this weekend

As you step into the event, prepare to be mesmerized by live body painting and awe-inspiring fire breathers. Their blazing flames will illuminate the night, casting an eerie glow upon the dark streets.

Get ready to immerse yourself in a night of twisted delights and gin-infused madness at the Dark Arts Society: World Gin Day on Gilbert Place. Inspired by Dark Mofo, this event aims to bring a touch of macabre enchantment to Adelaide, celebrating the art of gin in all its wicked glory.

Hains & Co, Memphis Slim’s, Shotgun Willie’s and High Spirits are joining forces to celebrate World Gin Day this Saturday 10th June in the West End. As you step into the laneway, prepare to be mesmerised by live body painting and awe-inspiring fire breathers. Their blazing flames will illuminate the night, casting an eerie glow upon the dark streets.

The DJs spinning their hypnotic beats will beckon you to surrender to the temptations of the night, igniting your senses with their electrifying performances.

But the spectacles don’t stop there. Witness the birth of a magnificent mural, created before your very eyes, capturing the essence of the dark arts and the allure of gin. Allow the tantalising taste of gin to entice you into its enchanting embrace, as you explore the transformed venues that are host to this twisted affair.

“We have been lucky enough to have the fantastic support of Fever Tree and Bombay Sapphire who have provided the opportunity for artists to showcase their art in all different mediums.” Hains & Co Marcus Motteram said.

Hains & Co., in collaboration with Never Never, presents the Spice Den, straight out of the 1800s. With its moody ambiance, dark curtains, and red lights, Hains & Co. will transport you to a bygone era, where the mysteries of the night intertwine with the secrets of the gin.

Shotgun Willie’s, accompanied by Bombay Sapphire, invites you to Apocalypse Now, a lush jungle landscape teeming with unknown creatures lurking in the shadows. Surrender to the unknown as you navigate through the dense foliage, your senses heightened by the exquisite taste of gin.

Memphis Slim’s, also partnering with Bombay Sapphire, unveils The Cabinet of Curiosities, a realm of black lights, voodoo, and utter chaos. Step into this fever dream, where reality blurs with the surreal, and indulge in the captivating flavours of gin.

High Spirits presents Enter the Netherworld: Fire and Brimstone, where the underworld rises to the surface. Brace yourself for an otherworldly experience, as fire and brimstone converge in a spectacle that will ignite your imagination.

Each venue will showcase their own gin cocktails, and G&T’s will be paired perfectly with Fever Tree tonic of course.

From live murals to fire breathers, body painting to captivating light shows, this event is not to be missed. Each venue will offer its own unique creations, from live music to gin tastings, ensuring an unforgettable experience.
