Hains & Co. throwing epic oyster and martini evening this weekend

The free event hosted by Hains & Co boasts an evening of oysters, martinis and a special product launch from South Aussie icons.

Hains & Co and Never Never Distilling Co. are once again popping-up their World Famous Oyster and Martini Bar, and this time there’s even more cause for celebration!

Kicking off on Saturday 15 May at 6:00pm, the event is completely free to attend and boasts a massive night full of good food, drinks, and even an onion or two.

In addition to celebrating all things seafood and martinis, Never Never will also be launching their surprise collaboration with Spring Gully Foods, a Botanical Infused Cocktail Onion distilled in their iconic Triple Juniper Gin’s signature ingredients – a traditional garnish of the famous Gibson Martini.

The evening will celebrate multiple martini variations, with each pre-batched variant stored within a solid block of clear ice, as well as scrumptious seafood and even Hains & Co’s famous Sea Pigs, paired with a Spring Gully inspired Red Snapper cocktail.

The Gibson Martini, like most classic cocktails, has a myriad of origin stories, however the most colourful was that it was named after the New York socialites the Gibson Girls, made famous by a risqué series of pen and ink drawings by Charles Dana Gibson in the early 1900’s.

It was risqué because the two cocktail onions adorning the drink were supposedly representative of the ample cleavage of the illustrated glamour models.

Regardless of its heritage, the Gibson cocktail has seen a resurgence thanks to spirited purveyors who appreciate the slightly savoury flavours the martini tends to generate.

The epic oyster and martini bar is the perfect setting to celebrate all things martinis and South Aussie icons.
