Adelaide’s Halal food festival, which celebrates multicultural cuisines from over 30 vibrant cultures from all around the world, will return to the CBD between October 4th and 5th. You can travel to places like Morocco, India, South-East Asia, Palestine, Greece, Syria, North Africa, Afghanistan, Turkey, and many more by visiting this multicultural event.

Launched in 2023, the Halal Food Festival emerged in response to the growing demand for halal options and events in Adelaide. Being the first, only, and largest halal food festival, this event was also established to provide a place for halal and multicultural vendors to celebrate food, while being inclusive to the needs of SA’s diverse community.

Offering the largest variety of cuisines in a local food festival, the aroma of this event alone highlights the the multiculturalism of South Australia with different spices, flavours, and ingredients, all coming together and celebrating each other at Victoria Square.

After the success of last year’s first event, Halal Food Festival Creative Director, Mohammed Hassan, shares his excitement to bring the popular festival back in 2024.

“Halal Food Fest is a fantastic event for people of all cultures to embrace, with entertainment on offer for the whole family,” Mohammed says.

“We created this event to offer a unique, culinary experience from every corner of the world, right in the heart of the Adelaide CBD. It is also a great opportunity to showcase halal food, which most people already consume without even knowing, especially at some of their favourite restaurants.”

“Halal food” refers to foods that are permissible in the Muslim faith in which are prepared in a clean, ethical and humane manner, following Islamic dietary laws. This includes guidelines surrounding the handling of meat and forbidden ingredients like pork and alcohol. This festival is the perfect event for those who are searching for diverse halal options or any Adelaide foodies who are keen to indulge in a great feed.

Entry is free and all are welcome to share their own culture while exploring others through food, music, and entertainment!
