Dust off your lederhosen and dirndls and let’s all raise our glasses to good times, good mates and good beer this October!

The Oktoberfest celebrations are coming back after 3 years, with better beers, bigger bratwurst and more bountiful Bavarian bliss than you could shake a pretzel at.

We may be calling ourselves out here, but we are fully aware that the food at these events not only feeds our bellies, but it also feeds our souls. You will be able to sample a myriad of Bavarian staples as listed below:

  • German Bratwurst varieties, Kranski and Curry Wurst with sauerkraut.
  • Pork knuckles (hocks)
  • Roast pork rolls off the spit
  • German chevaps
  • Bavarian meatloaf
  • Wood fired flammkuchen
  • Roasted chicken
  • Pulled pork and beef sliders
  • Braised meat rolls
  • Reuben sandwich and other gourmet toasted sandiwches
  • Pomme frites, chips & potato salad
  • Laugenbrezel (pretzels)
  • Crepes
  • Gingerbread hearts
  • German pastries and cakes

Returning bigger and better, Adelaide will play host to the event’s famous 2 beer halls with an atmosphere not to be missed.

To replicate the traditional München festival, there will be a long list of German entertainers including brass bands, yodellers, roving accordion players, pretzel fräuleins and a number of other German bands on and off stage.

The main outdoor stage will feature top local bands throughout the day and the best DJs in town dropping beats late into the night. If history is anything to go by, watch this space as the sun sets on Oktoberfest in the Gardens.

There will also be a massive three-channel silent disco that will feature nearly 30 local DJs across a variety of genres. This will definitely be a focal point for partygoers.

But the fun doesn’t stop off stage. Event MCs will be hosting a number of Oktoberfest-themed on-stage games and competitions throughout the day. There will be prizes for Miss and Mr Oktoberfest, stein holdings and bratwurst eating champions and a number of other traditional Oktoberfest games. So make sure you dress up and get involved, it’s always a highlight of the day.

For those of you who are connoisseurs, you will be able to taste your way across Europe with a large selection of imported German beer, cider, wine and a range of other beverages.
