Handpicked Festival Drops Lineup Featuring Amy Shark, John Butler, Missy Higgins And More

The enchanting Handpicked Festival will return on November 9 with some of the biggest names in Australian music set to converge on the lush lawns of Langhorne Creek.

The biggest names in Australian music are set to converge on the lush lawns of Australia’s hidden and untouched wine region, Langhorne Creek, for the enchanting Handpicked Festival on Saturday the 9th of November, 2019.

The boutique festival, will see indie pop sensation Amy Shark, powerhouse John Butler, nine-time ARIA award winner Missy Higgins, compelling singer-songwriter Odette, soul and blues masters The Teskey Brothers and funk, hip hop favourites Winston Surfshirt perform amongst the vineyards at Lake Breeze Wines.

The family-run event is a feast for the senses, where festival goers are encouraged to reconnect with nature through barefoot dancing, slow living vibes, authentic experiences and incredible food and wine from the region.

Festival goers can stretch out on picnic blankets, and enjoy the serene sounds of five-time chart topper, Missy Higgins, as she casts a spell with her irresistible melodies from award winning albums, The Sound of White, On a Clear Night, The Ol Razzle Dazzle, Oz and new album Solastalgia.

“Missy Higgins is a confident, exceptionally talented female musician. It is a real honour to have her on the Handpicked stage in our backyard,” said Kate Cooper.

Singer-songwriter, Odette, who sparked legion of fans with her highly acclaimed debut album, To A Stranger, is set to strike a chord with festivalgoers with her melting pot of culture and influence.

With a raw combination of soul and blues, Melbourne’s Teskey Brothers comprising of Sam and Josh Teskey, along with childhood friend Brendon Love and Liam Gough are sure to enchant Handpicked crowds.

“These guys bring soul and deliciousness! They honour the old Motown and turn it into their own, leaving your heart warm and infected with soul and blues,” said Kate Cooper.

Sydney band, Winston Surfshirt, will bring a unique blend of soul and hip-hop to the line up, with hits, Be About You and Ali D. After honing his craft busking on the beachfronts of Byron Bay, singer song-writer, Kyle Lionhart, will bring his soul and folk tunes to the grounds of Lake Breeze.

The event is a family affair, with creator Kate Cooper and sister Lauren Maxfield proving to be a formidable force, attracting thousands of festival goers and Australia’s biggest names in music to their piece of paradise for the past six years.

“People know by now that I call Handpicked my baby. I’m addicted, I’m in love, I’m emotional, I’m proud- just like any mother.

“I love the fact that I can share my baby with SA and Australia and that people leave this event feeling like a part of the family,” said Kate Cooper.

Kate and Lauren’s family, the Follett’s, have been growing grapes in Langhorne Creek for over 130 years, and enchant festival goers each year with a delightful array of Lake Breeze wines from the region.

Nestled amongst the gums, Handpicked’s enchanting Cocktail Forrest will return, bringing a magical line up of unique cocktails using Lake Breeze’s moscato, rosé and vermentino.

Just a stones throw from the nearby creek, Handpicked’s bustling marketplace will get visitors festival ready, with gorgeous flower crowns, face painting, henna, as well as local crafts.

Festivalgoers can party well into the night with Handpicked extending its Tent City, with space for up to 1500 campers at just $15 per person and even an opportunity for some to indulge in ‘glamping.’
