South Australian, Adelaide Hills iconic mansion, Mount Lofty House, is about to firmly earn bragging rights when it delivers a gastronomic feast for the senses as part of a week-long travel feature on the hit series MasterChef Australia. Debuting on Sunday, 10 June at 7.30pm only on TEN and WIN Network!
The jewel within the Adelaide Hills crown, award-winning Mount Lofty House’s Hardy’s Veranda Restaurant, will be a visual delight during MasterChef Australia’s SA week, for the regular audience of over one million viewers across Australia.
The rolling sunbathed hills of Piccadilly Valley that form the view from Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant will provide the backdrop to this week’s Immunity Challenge episode. Shot at Mount Lofty House, one contestant will challenge Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant Chef and now ‘MasterChef’, Jin Choi for an illustrious immunity pin. This episode will air on Tuesday 12th June 2018 at 7.30pm.
Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant has recently risen to widespread acclaim and a three-hat status, under Chef Jin Choi. After bursting onto the vibrant Adelaide food scene over a year ago, Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant has secured a steady stream of success and accolades with its contemporary, locally focussed menus and wanderlust worthy setting.
Korean-born Choi has honed his craft in some of the country’s best restaurants, including most recently 2IC at three hatted Sydney icon The Bridge Room, three hatted Momofuku Seibo and Adelaide’s own Magill Estate; all of which recently placed in the top 15 of Gourmet Traveller’s National top 100 restaurants. Choi was also one of a lucky few Australian chefs to be part of Noma Australia’s Sydney pop-up, led by culinary god René Redzepi.
Choi brings his unique and intuitive approach to the menu, creatively utilising South Australia’s best produce and continuing the restaurant’s ‘Valley to Verandah’ ethos. His ethos pertains to treating ingredients with respect and delivering delicious, surprising dishes.
When asked about the competition and the pressure on MasterChef, Choi says “I don’t want to give anything away, the competition is tough, they have exceptional talent. It was an honour and privilege to share and showcase Mount Lofty House’s Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant with them. I look forward to sharing my dishes with many new and existing diners in the future, as they are my judges everyday!”
Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant continues to offer its popular four course ‘short story’ menu or indulgent seven course ‘long story’ menu which is available Thursday to Sunday. A two and three course option is available for lunch only.
Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant has a myriad of awards under its belt since launching over a year ago, including:

· One Star and #2 Restaurant Regional SA in the Gourmet Traveller National Restaurant Awards,
