Get ready, Adelaide! In less than three weeks, the highly anticipated Harvest Rock festival is set to return, and along with the music comes an unprecedented selection of restaurants on offer, a veritable convoy of food trucks, a new dining experience from AFRICOLA and South Australia’s exceptional wine and beverage offerings.

The action will all take place in Murlawirrapurka & Ityamai-Itpina / Rymill & King Rodney Parks on Saturday October 28th and Sunday October 29th, promising to be a sensational fusion of music, food, and South Australian culture.

Following the success of last year’s dining experience with Jake Kellie of arkhé, Harvest Rock II continues its tradition of celebrating South Australian excellence.

This year, they’re welcoming AFRICOLA to the lineup. Situated in the newly christened Wildwoods Village food precinct, the pop-up restaurant is set to showcase why it has earned accolades as one of the state’s premier dining destinations.

“We are super excited to welcome the Africola gang to Harvest Rock, one of Adelaide’s finest restaurants. We are awed by Duncan’s enthusiasm and allround awesome work advocating South Australia’s best in show food offerings alongside the sublime beverage curation of legend Nick Stock will make for a weekend to remember. Harvest will rock indeed,” Secret Sounds Co-CEO, Jessica Ducrou says.

Festival attendees can stroll in for lunch between 11:30 am and 4:00 pm or opt for dinner from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm, enjoying a well thought-out menu of AFRICOLA’s renowned South African cuisine.

Expect a raw bar offering selections like oysters, ocean trout ceviche, and KIN bluefin tuna tartare. Small dishes will include grilled marinated peppers, tomatoes with marjoram and hellfire oil, white anchovy, wood-fired bread, and Zhoug.

For those craving large share plates, feast on fire-roasted turmeric chicken, Port Lincoln frutti di mare, fire-roasted cauliflower, and the Wildwood wagyu cheeseburger. Don’t forget to save room for dessert, featuring a luscious chocolate torte with smoked sea salt and Shibui soft serve.

“South Australia is on show once again and teaming up with some of the best food and booze folks in our state with the music festival gurus of Secret Sounds, makes this a pretty iconic collaboration across the board. There is a strong community amongst the vendors and winemakers already, add a couple of bands, makes this the craziest party of the year,” AFRICOLA Chef Patron, Duncan Welgemoed says.

Welgemoed has worked closely with Secret Sounds to program Wildwoods Village, allowing attendees to once again taste test their way around South Australia’s finest restaurants and eateries.

The precinct will showcase the state’s best-in-show dining experiences with 14 pop-up restaurants including a modern delicatessen, Thai, Filipino, pizza, fried chicken, a smokehouse and more, all highlighting seasonal and local produce.

Adelaide’s watering hole, Thirsty Tiger will be one of the many restaurants popping up within the village, with Creator and Founder Nina Hadinata stating “Thirsty Tiger, Adelaide’s hidden slice of paradise has created a special menu for this year’s Harvest Rock II. Serving Asian-inspired tacos and shared plates. Think Balinese chicken tacos with in-house salsa roja, loaded nachos with drunken kimchi cheese sauce & mango hot sauce.”

Award-winning Thai chef, Terry Intarakhamhaeng is excited to bring his Thai BBQ House to Harvest Rock II.

“His greatest love is cooking over fire, so you can imagine the passion that has gone into
creating this menu. You can find slow cooked M5 wagyu lemongrass brisket, chicken and beef skewers
with Thai red curry sauce, grilled turmeric pork ribs and more,” Terry says.

If looking for classic festival fares, Truck Town will return for the second year on Bartels Road. There will be a favourite for everyone with a collection of 18 food trucks dishing out dumplings, gözleme, bubble tea, burgers, empanadas and more.

The premium ticket offerings will return to Harvest Rock II in 2023 allowing festival goers the opportunity to elevate the festival feels. Within the dedicated VIP Village and Harvest Lounge, guests can enjoy a pop-up offering from AFRICOLA,thriving suburban eatery, Anchovy Bandit and modern Vietnamese restaurant Ông, all pushing the boundaries of food as you know it.
