Have your fairytale wedding at French Provincial farmhouse, Maison de Moon

Maison de Moon is a stunning 13-acre property in Clarendon, fit to host luxury farm stays, high teas, and picturesque whimsical weddings.

Deep in the heart of Clarendon is a whimsical French provincial style farmhouse, designed to host the most magical high teas, luxury farm stays, and fairytale weddings.

The glorious European escape, Maison de Moon, is situated on 13 acres of countryside, and features a rose garden, a wisteria walkway, and an abundance of picturesque settings.

As you make your way through the property, you will be able to find forged iron balustrades, beautiful structural arch entrances, and French antique hardware, carefully restored to its former glory.

The property was once owned by Judy Richards and Michael Norris for 18 years. In that time, the husband and wife duo had lovingly renovated, redesigned, and rebuilt the stunning property.

Michael, who previously owned homewares store Country Style Interiors, had undertaken the renovation works by himself, from handmaking the kitchen cabinetry to building the castle-like tower and turret with a winding stone staircase.

What was once a standard 1950s single level home was transformed into the French provincial getaway it is today. Michael even dug out the small lake, which is now filled with ducks, turtles, and water hens.

One thing Michael didn’t do was build the old barn, which is actually the only original dwelling still on the property. The small structure was used as a market garden stall for the five families who lived in the area 150 years ago.

The little dwelling is now a greenhouse, surrounded by grapevines, olives, fruit trees, and an apple orchard.

Another original feature is the 150-year-old Maple tree which stands in the heart of the now-bustling venue, filled with people looking for something magical.

The property now belongs to Irene and Tom Moon and their three children. Maison de Moon is listed on Airbnb as featuring three bedrooms and three bedrooms, fit for six guests.

For weddings, Maison de Moon can host up to 600 guests on the estate (as of 14 January 2022 – capacity restrictions may have changed). There are also intimate wedding ceremony and lunch packages available for groups between 20-40 people.

Maison de Moon is located in Clarendon, South Australia 5157.
