Have Your Say On The 2011/12 Holdfast Bay Annual Business Plan

The City of Holdfast Bay Draft 2011/12 Annual Business Plan is ready for consultation with the public and it holds a number of exciting projects that will improve both the quality and scope of life at Holdfast Bay.

The sustainable, balanced budget reflects an increase of six per cent – which translates to $70 per year or less than $1.40 per week for the average household.

It will deliver projects like the completion of the new King St. Bridge with a projected 100 year life, and the construction of the final two stages of the Alwyndor Aged Care redevelopment project. Together with Stage 1 of the redevelopment this brings the total investment in the project to $19.6 m with one hundred percent of the project’s cost funded by Alwyndor and at no cost to Council.

CEO of the City of Holdfast Bay Justin Lynch said that the projects will consolidate the City’s existing assets and promote its unique quality of life.

“Council has achieved an affordable budget that reflects fiscal responsibility and yet still achieves an exciting array of community projects. We’ve adopted a moderate rate rise with low borrowings which helps Council to maintain its significant asset base,” he said.

“The projects – whether new or maintenance based – offer a good spread of benefits for our whole community, and Council has undertaken them only after much consultation with our residents and businesses,” said Mr Lynch.
