Heading To Adelaide Cup? Here’s What You Need To Know

Thanks to the support of the Motor Accident Commission there will now be FREE public transport on all Adelaide Metro Networks to and from Morphettville, for all SAJC Members and pre-purchased ticket holders, on Monday 10 March.

Adelaide CupThere is just 3 days to go until the South Australian Jockey Club hosts Adelaide’s premier race day, the 2014 TattsBet Adelaide Cup, and thanks to the support of the Motor Accident Commission (MAC) there will now be FREE public transport on all Adelaide Metro Networks to and from Morphettville, for all SAJC Members and pre-purchased ticket holders, on Monday 10 March.

MAC General Manager Road Safety Michael Cornish, said “This is a great initiative. Not only does it provide all racegoers with hassle free transport to and from the Morphettville Racecourse, it is a sensible transport option that should be considered by those planning to enjoy the day with a few drinks.”

The SAJC is also pleased to advise that it has secured the use of an award-winning, innovative shade structure to provide greater sun protection for patrons on the Champagne Gardens lawns at Morphettville on TattsBet Adelaide Cup Day.

Developed in Darwin and used regularly during the Darwin Cup Carnival, this structure has won numerous awards for innovation, and is built to withstand winds in excess of 108kph; has an SPF rating of 43; and blocks out 97.6% of UV Rays.

SAJC Chief Executive Brenton Wilkinson said, “The Club is listening to patron feedback regarding the need for extra shade at Morphettville, and we are confident that this unique structure will provide the most reliable source of protection for patrons in all weather conditions. Whilst we acknowledge that the use of this new structure will result in vision of the track being partly obscured in some areas, we have endeavoured to minimise the impact to lines of sight, through the placement of additional superscreens around the course”.
