WOMADelaide is finally here and the city is buzzing! The annual open-air festival which celebrates cultural discovery with music and the arts will be in the heart of Adelaide’s stunning Botanic Park / Tainmuntilla.
The World’s Festival, since 1992, WOMADelaide is a truly unique part of the Australian festival landscape, showcasing the best, the essential – and the surprising – in music, arts, dance and ideas from around the world.
So that you have the most fantastic time enjoying world-class acts like Florence + The Machine, The Proclaimers, Bon Iver and Fantastic Negrito, we’ve put together an essential checklist.
It’s not just how to get there and what to bring, but also tips like how you can find the best food stalls for your dietary needs and what to wear so you can dance the day away without any worries.

Of course, most of the information you need will be in this list. But the app will let you browse schedules, artist information, site maps, personal planners and more.
What to bring

- Medication (especially for asthma, allergies or hayfever as the park can get dusty at times)

What to wear
Fabulous weather between 25-27 degrees is forecasted for WOMADelaide this long weekend. While we’re sure you’ll look fabulous decked out in a fabulous dress, shorts or a tee, make sure you also wear comfortable shoes for walking, dancing and keeping your toes warm at night.
While the weather looks good, we recommend a warm jumper for when the sun sets and it gets a bit chilly.
TIP: The cloakroom is available everyday from gates open to 12:30am sharp for any handbags, small cases or day packs, for a gold coin donation.
How to get there
WOMADelaide is held in close proximity to the Adelaide CBD in the beautiful Botanic Park / Tainmuntilla. Entry to the festival is via the gates on Frome Road and Hackney Road.
There is a number of ways you can get to the festival:
- Park at UPark! Pre-book for night and weekend parking from just $7 at UPark Rundle, UPark Frome or UPark Pirie Flinders. Convenient and affordable parking that’s open 24 hours.
- Ride your bike! The festival offers bike parks to accommodate more than 700 bikes, located adjacent to both the Hackney Road and Frome Road entrances.
- Catch public transport!
– Buss loop service – From Friday 10 to Monday 13 March 2023 a dedicated WOMADelaide bus loop service will be available to get you to and from Botanic Park / Tainmuntilla. metroCARD or Metroticket Fares apply.
– Adelaide Metro, City Connector – Take advantage of the free City Connector bus, offering a hop-on and hop-off service to the City and North Adelaide with services operating every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends.
– A tram service runs along North Terrace. Alight at the “Botanic Gardens” stop and walk north along Frome Road to the Frome Road festival gate for entry.

- Friday: 4:00pm – midnight
- Saturday: 11:00am – midnight
- Sunday: 11:00am – midnight
- Monday: 11:00am – midnight
What you can eat
There will be a range of awesome food and drink options from some great food stalls when you’re in there. They will have everything from bubble tea, to venetian soul food, to a spice kitchen.
TIP: If you go on the app, you’ll be able to filter all the food options with gluten free, dairy free, hahal and nut free filters.
There’s also a few spaces left at the Taste The World Restaurant Located in the spectacular Sanctuary Adelaide Zoo. Two of Adelaide’s favourite chefs will join forces to create a culinary adventure of fine food amidst the stunning views into Adelaide Zoo and Botanic Park. Limited spaces are left.
Tips and tricks
- Don’t bring cash! WOMADelaide is cashless and only accepting card payments.
- There is an information booth for all enquires directions and feedback between the foundation stage and stage 2. All lost children will also be taken to this booth.
- Return your cup to a blue ‘cup return bin’ anywhere in the festival so they can be washed and re-used at the festival.
