Prepare for a musical showcase like no other. Leading theatre organists Brett Kavanagh and Debbie Fitzsummons are back in Adelaide by popular demand for an exclusive performance of their thrilling showdown, “Duelling Keyboards”. With an afternoon full of classic tunes, this performance sounds like an unforgettable experience, promising something for everyone.
Tune in for this magical “hand-to-hand” battle of musical expertise between two virtuosos, performing at the iconic Capri Theatre on the legendary Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ and Grand Piano. Packed with hits from the stage and screen, the program features iconic tunes from West Side Story, The Lion King, as Chess, as well class tunes from Queen and the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies.
Furthermore, a dash of drama will be thrown into the mix, with tangos from Schlinder’s List and True Lies among others. And to put the cherry on top of Duelling Keyboards, a touch of festive cheer will be added with renditions of Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride and the timeless Mary’s Boy Child, popularised by Tom Jones and David Foster.
Finally, if you haven’t been to the Capri Theatre before, you’re certainly in for a delightful surprise at the heritage-listed cinema in Goodwood. Usually tucked beneath the stage for safe-keeping, the near 100-year old pipe organ is raised into view from below for an incredible reveal.
Having wowed audiences in Brisbane and the Gold Coast with their musicianship and fun personalities, Brett and Debbie played at The Capri back in February 2023, with a performance spanning melodies from sci-fi to fantasy, drama to musicals to animation, Ennio Morricone to Paul Williams. The dazzling duo return to Adelaide this December for what promises to be another incredible display of musicianship.
