Josh Deegan Memorial Golf Day 2012

Former Sturt Football Club player, Unley High School student and much loved friend and colleague Josh Deegan was remembered at the 10th anniversary event of the Josh Deegan Memorial Golf Day at Belair Golf Course on Sunday, 26 February 2012.

The event, which has been held annually since Josh was taken by the 2002 Bali Bombings at the age of 22, raises vital funds for the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) Burns Unit while providing the opportunity to remember one of many young lives lost by the tragedy. The golf day is now the single biggest individual contributor to the RAH Burns Unit.

Money raised through fundraising events is particularly important to the RAH Burns Unit – with funds raised from the Memorial Day in the past used to purchase special airbeds, a specially designed Hausted chair and support facilities to assist in the comfort of burns patients.

Fundraising for this year’s event is still ongoing, and this year they hope to raise a massive $30,000 for the RAH Burns Unit. This is double their previous best contribution – a huge target for the 10th year!
