Henley favourite, Nauti Buoy, announces new UNO tournament, complete with cocktails

It’s all fun and games – and cocktails! – at Henley’s Nauti Buoy as they announce new Uno tournament in January.

Henley’s beachside cafe and bar, Nauti Buoy, first launched their highly-anticipated and hugely successful UNO tournaments in 2025, and now, there’s a new tournament on the cards. New game, same rules, big prizes. So, how does it all work?

“We run up to 10 tables, with each person playing five games in total,” says co-owner and event organiser Harrison ‘Raph’ Raphael. “After all five games are completed, the top 10 players progress to the Grand Final.”

When players arrive, they’re given a number and a personalised schedule, which shows exactly where they need to be for each game, so everyone always knows where to head next. The prize for the winner? Bragging rights, and a massive $200 Nauti Buoy voucher!

“The UNO tournaments have been great as people now understand the format better,” says Raph. “At first, some thought they’d just be playing with their mates, which is partly true, but everyone plays everyone. It’s been amazing to watch strangers and friends mix, chat, and make new connections, especially after a couple of wines.”

Just in time for the new tournament, scheduled to be held on January 9, the bar has launched a brand-new cocktail menu. While you can still get traditional faves like a martini or negroni, they’re also throwing some new flavours into the mix.

Get ready for Spicy Mango Margaritas – a hot combination of home-made mango syrup and chilli-infused tequila – and Tropic Thunder – a cheeky blend of vodka, house-made mint kaffir lime syrup and only the freshest and juiciest pineapples.

If wine is more your style, you’ve also come to the right place. “Our friends at Don’t Tell Mum Wines are always keen to be involved in fun nights like this,” says Raph.

“On UNO nights we run a slightly reduced food menu, simply because people are constantly moving between tables, but there are still some tasty nibbles available.”

The calendar is always full at this popular hangout, and the games are a big drawcard for Nauti Buoy. On alternate Fridays, they also host the events Buoy-Friend and Nauti Quiz, which give patrons the opportunity to do something entertaining with their friends while knocking back a few drinks and relaxing in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Think Tattoo Bingo – where names are pulled from a hat and the winner gets a flash tattoo on the spot! – loads of quizzes, the occasional pizza night, and a whole lot of fun.

Do you have what it takes to win? Head down to Nauti Buoy on January 9. The tournament is free to play and starts at 7.30pm, but players are encouraged to arrive early for some practice rounds and maybe a cold bevvie or two. Numbers are limited and bookings are essential, so there’s no time to waste!
