Acacia at Henley Beach is mixing it up for March, introducing an entirely plant-based tasting menu. The restaurant, which is known for its creative menus, epitomises this reputation through its “Meat-Free March” initiative.
The offering includes a flavourful array of dishes, such as barbecue cabbage, pumpkin with sweet potato miso and braised pepitas, onion soup with finger lime miso, and brûlée with berries and nori. Everything on the menu has been made from scratch and has taken more than 50 hours to produce.
The restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and Friday and Saturday dinners, went this route to help the environment and expand the palettes of its customers.
“With a conscious effort to do our bit for the environment and get creative with plants, we have foregone the use of any meat and animal products to demonstrate that just because a dish is plant based, does not mean it cannot be a delicious culinary experience,” they say.
The Henley Beach spot also hopes the experience will be enjoyable for vegans and meat-eaters alike.
“We hope you enjoy our celebration of the plant kingdom, and if you are not vegan yourself, our aim is to make sure that you do not miss the animal component of the food,” they say.
Acacia also has an extensive drink list, and there are vegan cocktail and wine options to complement the tasting menu.
