When SA Health shared a post on Facebook about getting enough sleep this week, I have to admit, I actually had no idea how much the ideal number of hours varied between age groups.
I grew up thinking 12 hours of sleep each night was ideal, but 8 hours was the minimum required to be functional each day. Now that I’ve had kids myself, I’m pretty sure I can function on 5 or 6 hours, but if I get 8, I’m living my best life.
Getting enough sleep each day is one of the most important things we can do for our health and wellbeing, but our needs change depending on our age. So, how much sleep should you be getting every night?
Turns out I might need to get to bed earlier…
