Hesketh Wines collabs with Grunthal Brew for new cellar door

Set to open in February, the Hesketh Wines cellar door will be homed within the new Udder Delights and Grunthal Brew venue.

New year, new home for family-owned Hesketh Wines, with the team collaborating and taking up residence at the soon-to-open Grünthal Brew and Udder Delights Cheese Cellar, creating the ultimate tourism destination for craft beer, cheese, wine and good times.

The move, described by Hesketh Wines’ Managing Director Jonathon Hesketh as “the perfect match for two likeminded family food and wine businesses,” adds another brilliant string to the bow of a venue that’s shaping up to be one of the state’s top microbrewery, cellar door and artisan produce meccas.

Set to open in February, The Hesketh cellar door will showcase the winery’s regional selections range including Adelaide Hills varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Nebbiolo Bianco, Sauvignon Blanc and a vintage Methode Champenoise Sparkling.

They’ll be complemented by the Hesketh limited releases from other premium South Australian growing regions, including Penola Cabernet from Coonawarra, Ebenezer Shiraz and Grenache from the Barossa, Fiano from the Clare Valley and Jimi’s Ferment Fumé Blanc from Mt Gambier. All of which will be available in flights paired with Udder Delights cheeses, by the glass and by the bottle.

“We are beyond thrilled to open the door to a new home for Hesketh Wines and are equally excited to be joining forces with our friends Sheree and Saul Sullivan at Grünthal Brew and Udder Delights,” Jonathon said.

“Being able to showcase what our incredible winemaking team produce is something we’ve aspired to for a long time. We couldn’t imagine a better place or way to present our wines.”

“We are also extending our sparkling wine offering with the High Tea experience at Grünthal in mind. A Prosecco along with a Vintage Methode Champenoise Blanc de Noir, will join the Madeline Alice NV Cuvée in the line-up.”

Grünthal Brew founder, Sheree Sullivan, said Hesketh’s presence would ensure that the vast tourism, craft beer, food, cheese and wine venue would offer something for just about everyone.

“Hesketh is a small, family-owned producer of high quality, well-balanced, beautiful wines; Grünthal Brew strives to craft approachable, drinkable beer; and Udder Delights has an enviable reputation for well-made, delicious cheese…and as Jonathon says, it’s got to be a match made in heaven,” she said.

“As we both share an uncompromising passion for quality and approach the way we do business in a similar fashion, we are delighted that Jonathon and Trish Hesketh and their team have chosen us as the home for their exciting new cellar door.”

Opening in February 2022, the Grünthal Brew HQ will be complemented by a casual, family-friendly eatery serving pizza and fun delicious food that pairs well with beer and wine.

A dedicated conservatory for private function use and tourism experiences, including cheesemaking and beer making classes; and a landscaped backyard overlooking the Onkaparinga River will also feature, making it the perfect family-friendly venue to visit.
