Hidden behind a secret door, you’ll find The Kandy Shop Club

Tucked away at the back of a reputable karaoke joint, you enter the club through a secret door, which is hidden behind a sliding cabinet.

Tonight, you’ll have one more venue to choose from as you swagger down Hindley Street, with the soft opening of the Kandy Shop Club.

Tucked away at the back of a reputable karaoke joint, you enter the club through a secret door, which is hidden behind a sliding cabinet.

Beyond the door is a whole new world, which you enter via the ‘time travel tunnel’.

Think infinity mirrors, giant candy tubes, plenty of places to sit and enjoy their themed drinks list, DJs, a bar, and a outdoor beer garden space.

Kandy Shop Club is located behind K Illusion Karaoke Lounge, which has long been known for their Gummy Bear Shakers, Cotton Candy Martinis and sweet-themed cocktails. It made the naming decision for their new secret nightclub an easy one.

“Our drinks are what we were known for, so we wanted to theme the club both with the candy idea, and also an infinity concept, which is throughout the venue with the mirrors and decor,” says owner, Leo.

“We wanted to give our customers who were coming for the karaoke a more chilled out place to relax with friends and have a drink, plus give those who haven’t visited us a new place to enjoy.”

Tonight is the first night of trade, with DJs playing RnB tunes, free entry and more on offer.

Overall, the venue’s capacity is 350, including K Illusion, but with current restrictions, capacity is reduced to 214, with around 100 safely able to enjoy Kandy Shop Club.

As per Covid-safe operations, visitors to the club can order at the bar, take a number, find a seat, and have their drinks delivered to the table.

Kandy Shop Club is open from 10pm to 5am.
