Hilltop Hoods and Sia join forces on ‘I Love It’

Two of Adelaide’s most well-known and prolific names have come together to no doubt conquer the charts (and local airwaves). Hip-hop group the Hilltop Hoods and quirky songstress Sia have joined forces on I Love It, the Hilltop Hoods’ first single from their upcoming album Drinking From the Sun.

Both artists have enjoyed great success since their humble beginnings in Adelaide. The Hilltop Hoods' albums The Hard Road and State of the Art topped the ARIA album charts in 2006 and 2009 respectively, with the group winning multiple ARIA Awards including Best Urban Release and Best Independent Release.

Sia’s music has since crossed borders and won her a devout overseas following alongside her loyal fanbase at home. Her sleeper hit Breathe Me was featured in the series finale of popular US drama Six Feet Under before she finally earned her pop stripes with albums Some People Have Real Problems and We Are Born. Following collaborations on Christina Aguilera’s album Bionic and David Guetta’s Titanium, Sia is readying her fifth album for a 2012 release.

And judging by an ominous tweet yesterday from fellow Adelaide rap group The Funkoars, Sia may not be the only local artist the Hoods will be working with on Drinking From the Sun.

I Love It will be released nationally on Friday, November 25 through Golden Era.
