Hindley Street Music Hall to host this year’s SA Music Awards

The SAM Awards (The South Australian Music Awards) return on the 17th of November to celebrate excellence across the South Australian contemporary music industry.

Nominations are now open for the awards which are to be hosted within Adelaide’s new state-of-the-art music venue, the Hindley Street Music Hall.

Nominations for the 2022 SAM Awards are now open, with award categories set to recognise both those who rock out on the stage and the industry behind the states exceptional musical talent, plus a new focus on regional South Australia with the introduction of the new regional award categories with the ‘Best Regional Venue/ Music Activation’ and ‘Best Regional Artist’ being presented at the awards for the first time.

Entries for the SAM Awards will close on Monday October 3rd  at 11:59pm and the Australian public is encouraged to nominate their favourite SA musician, band, sound engineer, manager, or even self-nominate themselves. To Nominate, click HERE.

Presented by MusicSA, the annual SAM Awards have become a standout fixture on Adelaide’s events calendar and is a ‘night of nights’ for the South Australian music community, which expands and enhances the state’s reputation as a home for musical excellence and industry leader as an UNESCO City of Music.

CEO of MusicSA Christine Schloithe, said it is thrilling to see the SAM Awards return in 2022.

“The SAM Awards are an important and much-loved event for the music industry as we collectively honour the exceptional talent, both on and off the stage, that South Australia boasts. Additionally, it enables us to celebrate the resilience and determination of our contemporary music industry as it emerges stronger than ever after the past two years of the pandemic.

“The talent in South Australia is extraordinary and to adequately reflect that, we encourage as many people as possible to nominate themselves and others who are doing amazing things for music in SA.” said Schloithe.
