Hindley Street nightclub fined for disregarding COVID-19 restrictions

Hindley Street’s Red Square has been issued a $5,000 fine for breaching the Public Activities Direction.

An investigation was undertaken following a complaint from a member of the public.

Footage obtained shows the venue operating as a nightclub in contravention of the State Coordinator’s Direction.

The investigation revealed that dancing along with consumption of alcohol and loud amplified music was occurring, which is prohibited under the current directions.

SAPOL COVID Compliance have referred the breach of COVID-19 Directions to the Liquor & Gambling Commissioner to consider whether disciplinary action against the licensee is warranted.

North Terrace nightclub Fat Controller has also been fined for breaching COVID-19 restrictions.
