The award-winning musical sensation, History of House, is set to return to Adelaide Fringe for a highly anticipated 2025 season. This unique collaboration between Adelaide’s very own DJ Groove Terminator and the globally celebrated Soweto Gospel Choir from South Africa is sure to take the Adelaide Fringe experience to new heights.
Following a series of successful performances across Australia, including a notable nomination for Best World Music Album at the 2024 ARIA Awards for their album ‘History of House’, the team is eager to bring their dynamic show back to Adelaide, the city where it all began.
“We had such an amazing time last summer doing two Fringe festival seasons back-to-back, in Perth and Adelaide,” said Simon Lewicki, who’s better known as Groove Terminator.
“History of House audiences are always really up for it – the dancefloor in The Fantail at Gluttony goes off!”
“Adelaide Fringe is where this show was born in 2020, and we’ve since taken it all around Australia. It’s special coming back to Adelaide – which is also my hometown – for our fourth season here.”

The collaboration between Groove Terminator and the Soweto Gospel Choir extends beyond live performances, with their collective effort in producing the album ‘History of House’. This project features the powerful vocals of the Soweto Gospel Choir alongside the talents of Southern African musicians. Produced by Groove Terminator and Latroit, a Grammy-winning US producer, the album pays homage to the African roots of dance music and offers a global reimagining of iconic dance classics. Fans will have the opportunity to experience some of these tracks live as the group is set to perform songs from the album during the festival.
The connection of History of House with powerhouses in the music industry extends further through their representation by Seeker Music, owned by Evan Bogart, son of the legendary Neil Bogart of Casablanca Records, which is evident in the show’s broad musical heritage and influence.
In addition to their regular evening performances, History of House will offer two Sunday afternoon matinées, catering to a diverse audience range, a feature the team thoroughly enjoys.
“History of House is a celebration of the power of music to bring people together from all walks of life to have a fantastic time,” shared Simon.
