H&M opens first Australian flagship store in April

H&M, the Swedish fashion retailer will open its first Australian full concept store at Melbourne’s GPO on April 5, 2014.

Australia ExclusiveHennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), the Swedish fashion retailer known internationally for fashion and quality at the best price, will open its first Australian full concept store at Melbourne’s GPO on April 5, 2014.

The approximately 5,000 square meter refurbishment of one of Melbourne’s  iconic CBD buildings will be one of H&M’s largest stores globally. H&M has embraced and restored the heritage GPO building to create a bespoke retail experience that promises to wow Melbourne.

To launch H&M into Australia, an exclusive VIP event will be held in store on April 3rd, where guests will be treated to a special DJ set by ultrachic American rock band, Haim.

To celebrate H&M’s arrival, a specially designed ‘Australian Exclusive Collection’ will be launched exclusively at the opening. Designed to complement the Australian lifestyle, this limited edition capsule collection will feature exclusive apparel and accessories for men and women and will only be available at the new flagship store.

We wanted to make our launch into Australia special by creating this exclusive capsule collection which in unique to the Australian market,” said Hans Anderson, Country Manager for H&M Australia
