Hockeyroos Go Pink Supporting National Breast Cancer Foundation

One of Australia’s most successful sporting teams, the Hockeyroos, have unveiled their new pink playing kit in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation yesterday at Perth Hockey Stadium.

"The girls love the new pink Hockeyroos suits. We are really excited to wear them next Saturday and show our support for the National Breast Cancer Foundation," said Hockeyroos defender Anna Flanagan.

The Hockeyroos will wear the special pink playing kit on Saturday 24 November for the Ausdrill Ladies Day at the International Super Series Hockey 9’s, which runs from Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 November at Perth Hockey Stadium.

"We feel honored to use our sport and profile to create awareness of the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the amazing work they do within the community," Flanagan said.

Hockey Australia will host a ‘pink themed’ fundraising luncheon as part of the Ausdrill Ladies Day, including a silent auction, with all proceeds being donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Collection tins will also be available at the venue for donations.

Carole Renouf, Chief Executive Officer of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, hopes the support from the Hockeyroos will inspire the public, encouraging people to take action and most importantly instilling hope for finding the cure.

“We are looking forward to working with the Hockeyroos to keep the spotlight on the need for ongoing research to assist us in achieving our aspirational goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030,” said Renouf.
