Adelaide’s own award-winning actor, singer and entertainer, Hugh Sheridan is back at the Adelaide Fringe with the premiere of his new show ‘Hugh Sheridan: My Way’ – a joyous, sultry showstopper for all ages.
If you love Jazz, Blues and toe-tapping tunes this is one not to miss. Along with a full band, Hugh will be joined by international guests Maiya Sykes and Norm Roper – both of whom will be making their Adelaide Fringe debut.
A classically trained vocalist and producer, Maiya Sykes is no stranger to the big league having teamed up with the likes of Beyonce, Aretha Franklin, Janet Jackson and Michael Buble. She’s also provided background vocals in a number of Hollywood films including the Oscar-award winning musical La La Land.
Not to be outdone, Canadian drummer, Norm Roper is a star in his own right having performed with a sensational list of international stars from the Beegees to The Monkees.
Hugh first met Norm in LA and it was him who convinced him to pursue a career in singing. Hugh took his advice and it was from there that his smash hit show ‘California Crooners’ was born.
Hugh returns to Adelaide Fringe for his sixth year with infectious optimism saying “This year’s show will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for audiences.”
He continued, “Over the past year I’ve enjoyed a journey of personal self-discovery. This show reflects that emotional journey, combining a mix of diverse genres to create a toe-tapping show for everyone to enjoy.”
The diverse set list of songs, from Frank Sinatra to Coldplay will have audiences revelling in the magic of music with Hugh, Maiya and Norm.
2022 will be Hugh’s final performance at Adelaide Fringe, taking a step back from the limelight to focus on his directorial debut ‘The Dance’ – a semi-autobiography focusing on mental health and the battles of growing up.
‘Hugh Sheridan: My Way’ begins in Gluttony on Wednesday March 9th.
