Hood Sweeney 36ers sign a new piece of the puzzle

JohnsonThe Hood Sweeney Adelaide 36ers have secured the services of one of the most sought after free agents in the market in 6’11 Daniel Johnson.  Johnson comes to the 36ers for two years after spending time with the Melbourne Tigers. Johnson was able to demonstrate his capabilities in the absence of the injured Chris Anstey and showed enough skill and promise to be courted by several clubs.

Last season with the Tigers Daniel averaged 10.6 points at 55% as well as 4.3 rebounds per game in an average of 18 minutes. He scored more than 15 points in 8 games and had a stand out games against Cairns where he had 15 points and 12 rebounds.

This signing also means that the Hood Sweeney 36ers have covered off the league requirement to suit an under 24 player for the next two seasons.

Johnson is described by new Head coach Marty Clarke as “A great addition that gives us a unique combination of size, athleticism, youth and an uncanny nose for putting the ball in the basket.
He has great scope to improve as a player. As he gets more experience, becomes more assertive and stronger, we expect DJ to be an integral part of the Sixers plans for the future. “
