Horse Fever To Take Over First Hotel Richmond For Melbourne Cup

More into fashion than horses this Melbourne Cup? First Hotel Richmond is the running mate you’ve always wished you had.

For those of us more into the frocks of Melbourne Cup than the ponies, Hotel Richmond have our backs! Their 2017 Melbourne Cup Luncheon is set to feature a 3-course meal, sparkling wine, and an exclusive Atelier Milano fashion show by designer Pierina D’Angelica.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a luncheon without a feast, and featuring a variety of dishes it’s sure to not disappoint.

There’s entrée plates to share, including a range of house made dips of the day with chargrilled pita bread; arancini with tomato & basil and aioli, as well as chermoula chicken skewers and panko-crumbed prawn with sauce gribiche.

For main course, you can chow down on your choice of: risotto with sundried tomato pesto, goats curd and rocket; Atlantic salmon with freekeh, pea, mint, feta and pomegranate molasses; or Porterhouse steak with fried kipfler, spinach, confit tomato and jus.

Dessert will be a selection of petits fours served with tea & coffee, the perfectly light way to end a delicious luncheon.

If you’re not too busy drooling over dresses, or wining and dining, you’ll also be able to try your Melbourne Cup luck with a race sweep and TAB machine on site. Races will be broadcast on large screens around the venue, so you won’t miss a minute of the action.

Atelier Milano is an Adelaide brand with a speciality in extravagant bridal frocks, so you can expect beautiful gowns from this exclusive Melbourne Cup Day showcase. No stranger to the Hotel Richmond, you may have caught D’Angelica’s last fashion show at the Richmond in September.
