Adelaide’s highest rooftop bar, Merrymaker, is open

Adelaide’s highest rooftop bar, Merrymaker, has opened atop the vibrant new Hotel Indigo.

The highly anticipated 145-room Hotel Indigo is open for visitors to check out its intriguing design features, deep connections to its vibrant neighbourhood and intriguing culinary offerings.

Located next to the lively Adelaide Central Market, the hotel champions local producers in its two restaurants – Market & Meander Eatery and Bar, as well as rooftop raw food bar, Merrymaker which is the highest rooftop bar in Adelaide.

The hotel’s public spaces feature striking brick archways mimicking those in Adelaide Central Market, colourful street art-inspired murals by acclaimed Australian collage artists including Tristan Kerr and an exposed terracotta brick feature wall etched with intriguing neighbourhood references such as “Six o’clock Swill” and “Mad March”.

Merrymaker has sweeping city views with a menu by chef Gabriele Pezzimenti which is raw food-focused.

Expect a range of oysters, tartares, charcuterie and cheeses, all prepared in an open kitchen.

Highlights include organic oysters from Coffin Bay, gin-cured Port Lincoln sardines and octopus carpaccio with pickled shallots.

The drinks menu features more than 25 local gins, including Prohibition Bathtub Cut Gin and Blend Etiquette Floral as Hell, as well as showcasing some of the best South Australia’s wines and craft beers.

Hotel Indigo is now open and can be found at 23-29 Market Street, Adelaide SA.
