While Hottest 100 voting is yet to open, we can’t wait to celebrate one of the biggest music days of the year.
Tame Impala? Spacey Jane? Cardi B? Who do you think will take home the top spot of the best new music that sound-tracked 2021?
Until voting opens, you’ll want to put this fiery event in your calendar. Brought to you by Party Shirt, a booming Hottest 100 open air party is coming to town on January 22, 2022 at 240 Victoria Square.
From 11:30am, the countdown will be streamed while music lovers sip on quality beverages with their crew. There will be food trucks to fuel you throughout the party and free Zooper Doopers to keep you cool on the balmy summer day.
Tickets for the event are yet to go on sale, but they will include kick ons so you can party well into the night with DJs playing your favourite tunes.
The Hottest 100 party that Party Shirt hosted in Adelaide last year was held at Atlantis Bar & Lounge rooftop in the CBD. The event sold out fast and we are expecting the same outcome as this for 2022.
The event will mirror last year’s in that it is out in the open, yet next year it will be held outside of a venue and we expect it will bring a festival-like vibe. The event is 18+ so bring your crew and some of your favourite hottest 100 drinking games for a day of the hottest music and the coolest party vibes.
The Hottest 100 is triple j’s annual poll of your favourite songs that have been released each year. A vote is held at the end of every year and then the countdown is played in January a couple of months later.
The Hottest 100 has been held annually since 1989. Up until 2018, the countdown was held on Australia Day. But from this date, it has been moved to the fourth weekend of January.
The day after the Hottest 100, the Hottest 200 countdown is played with tunes that didn’t quite make the cut. We can’t wait to see who lands a spot on the Hottest 100 of 2021, and we cant wait to party about it at Party Shirt’s open air event.
