Houndwave Music Festival For Dogs Hits Adelaide

Adelaide’s Westend is planning a dog-friendly music festival with markets and more.

We know that South Australians love their dogs. When Bacchus at Henley Beach launched their K9 Menu, you went mad for it. The Grand’s new dog-friendly deck also sent our readers crazy. When we wrote our Instagram Dogs of Adelaide guide, we discovered a ridiculous number of pooches with more followers than we’ve had glasses of wine (and that’s a lot). So when we discovered that Adelaide’s Westend was planning a dog-friendly music festival with markets and more, we knew we had to share the good news!

Houndwave will be a free community event, celebrating life in the City of Adelaide and giving locals an opportunity to meet their neighbours. Not cats though. No cats allowed. Because you know if it wasn’t stated explicitly, some random would bring a cat just to be different.

Dogs and families can enjoy a day out in beautiful Wauwi – Light Square, with a terrific lineup from dog-loving musicians and great refreshments.

The live music line up includes Thom Lion, Donnarumma, Paige Court, Sasha March music, Todd Sibbin and there will be more entertainment added. Keep up to date on the Adelaide Westend website and the facebook event

Charity partners for the event are the Animal Welfare League SA and the RSPCA Australia. Houndwave will be asking for donations on the day so please come along with a generous spirit.

Dogs must be on a leash at all times and should be suitably socialised so they can enjoy the day out.

Houndwave 2017 is presented by the Adelaide Westend Association, and proudly supported by Bendigo Bank, Splash Adelaide, Chihuahua Bar Peel Street, Duografik,Gläshaus, AdelaideVet, Dandelion Vineyards, Renewal SA, Little Acorn Music, West Franklin Apartments, Helen Page Photography, #Weva and Unison.
