  • Waterproof boots, clothes and bags with Miss Minit Water and Stain Protector ($12.95) on a regular basis to protect from spills and stains
  • A regular buff and polish makes a huge difference to your favourite worn boots, try and clean boots weekly to maintain the leather (a leather care pack is available for $22.95 from Mister Minit)
  • If your boots become wet pack them with newspaper. This helps to draw out the moisture and maintain the shape. Then allow them to dry naturally in room temperature before applying leather conditioner
  • If patent leather has scuffs or marks head to a Mister Minit stores to buy a thinner that can help to remove even tough marks
  • Always use a shoe horn when putting on your boots; this avoids damage to the heel area ($9.95 from Mister Minit stores)
  • Leather boots require a day to dry out from natural perspiration; avoid wearing your shoes several days in a row
  • To keep the shape of your boots insert a use a blow up booty shaper or a boot tree when you’re storing your boots. Boot trees allow boots to contract and dry out to their ideal shape
  • Don’t store your boots wrapped in plastic. The leather needs to be able to breathe
  • Suede boots and jackets are in a category of their own, since you can’t polish away any scuff marks. Use a Suede & Nubuck Brush ($11.95) to rub away small blemishes and to restore the nap or fuzz, of the leather
  • To revive faded suede, apply a pigmented product such as suede and nubuck reviver or redye with Suede and Nubuck dye $12.95
