The Adelaide Hills Wine Region is set to once again host the highly anticipated Winter Reds festival, with Howard Vineyard’s three-day line up of events, taking centre stage for this year’s festivities. Held from July 26th to July 28th, the gorgeous destination is offering a range of experiences for visitors, from gourmet dining to lively dance floors.
This year Howard Vineyard will be hosting the main marquee on the large back lawn of their venue, nearest to the vineyards. Enjoy wood fires, live DJ music, plenty of red wine, cocktails and the regular drinks list, and a delicious winter festival menu to keep you warm.
Those outside will be able to enjoy food from the outdoor kitchen, which will be offering delicious winter foods like Peking Duck or Vegetarian Spring Rolls, and customisable Korean Bowls with options like Slow Cooked Beef Brisket. Guests can indulge in desserts like Jenny’s signature Brownies, which pair nicely with Howard Vineyard’s Shiraz.
If you’ve ever been to Howard, you’ll also know that one of their huge draw cards is also their restaurant. The food is exquisite, and they often run lunches and dinners to much acclaim. The Winter Reds weekend makes the most of their incredible chef, with a dinner and two long lunches on offer.
Kicking off the weekend, Howard Vineyard will present “The Shiraz Social Feast” on Friday, July 26th from 6pm. Guests will enjoy multi-course shared menu, including a starter, 2 entrees, 2 mains and 2 sides – plus a first pour of sparkling, wine or beer on arrival. The feast, priced at $110 per person or $99 for Clover Society members, will be the perfect way to ease into Winter Reds. Diners will savour dishes such as Sweet & Sour Chicken with heirloom tomatoes and halloumi, and Scotch Fillet Steak with truffle butter and chilli salsa verde.
The festivities extend into the weekend with “The Shiraz Social Event” on both Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. There’s a range of tickets to suit all budgets, including a basic $20 entry to the festival, a fancier marquee ticket, and then the lunches on both days. There’s also a bus option for the Saturday.
Across the weekend, there will be a great line up of live music, including DJ Ali from Black Cherry Events who will set the mood on both Saturday and Sunday morning. Vocalist & DJ Lesley Williams is scheduled to perform on Saturday afternoon, following her recent high-profile gigs, and DJ Kai will stir up the crowd on Sunday, fresh from his New Year’s Eve performance for a massive beach crowd.

Marketing Manager Dave Jolly shared, “It’s always exciting to see a large event come together, building a fun outdoor festival and seeing the venue fill with over 1200 guests across the Winter Reds weekend. It’s even better to see people having fun, smiling, laughing, enjoy our wines, food and festival vibes and making it a great day out, because without the people it wouldn’t be possible,” he stated.
Tom, the GM & Winemaker, is also a big fan of the festival, saying “It’s a great time of year to enjoy the beautiful Adelaide Hills while enjoying a glass of wine around a cosy fire with good mates and a cheeky little boogie to keep you on your toes and warm.”
This year’s Winter Reds at Howard Vineyard is set to be a memorable weekend, blending fine dining, premium wines, and festive atmospheres, all set in the scenic backdrop of the Adelaide Hills.
