Howard Vineyard’s Rosé and Dumpling Festival returns this summer

Howard Vineyard’s much-loved event is back in January next year, with their Rosé and Dumpling Festival returning to satiate the palette and the stomach.

Summer wine lovers rejoice! Howard Vineyard’s much-loved event is back in January next year, with their Rosé and Dumpling Festival returning to satiate the palette and the stomach.

The festival will be one of the biggest Adelaide Hills wine events this summer, running from January 29 and 30 2022. It will showcase Howard Vineyard’s vintages, serve up delicious dumplings and offer a family-friendly relaxed atmosphere at the Adelaide Hills winery.

Head Chef, Chang Koog Lee (Cookie), will be on site making his OG hand-rolled dumplings while the event will also highlight Howard Vineyard’s rosé ranges including the Cabernet Franc Rose.

For non-rosé drinkers, fear not – Howard Vineyard will have their entire range available over the weekend for all to enjoy.

Included in the $15 adult ticket is a Riedel wine glass to keep, and a bottle of water to stay hydrated throughout the day. The $5 children entry ticket will also include a bottle of water, as well as an ice block to keep them smiling all day long.

For those who want to take their experience to the next level, VIP tickets for $150 come with an oyster tray and antipasto plate on arrival.

VIP ticketholders will also be treated to two food tokens per person to order from the main food menu with an exclusive VIP only food queue, and a three-hour drinks package.

This drinks package will run from 12pm to 3pm and includes wines from Howard Vineyard as well as beer, cider, juice, soft drink, and water.

Live music will soundtrack the day whilst the rosé flows and endless dumplings are served.

The event sprang from an idea by Head Winemaker and General Manager, Tom Northcott,  who was constantly searching for the world’s greatest rosè and dumpling combination. He first introduced the concept to South Australia during the 2019 Crush Festival.

Amber Flavell, Brand Manager, said many wine enthusiasts are hanging out for a time when summer festivals can be normal again after many have been cancelled and postponed.

“There was great demand for an event like the Rosé and Dumpling Festival – which we first hosted during Crush Festival – because people can’t wait for things to return to how they once were,” Amber says.

“That’s why we’re throwing our much-loved Rosé and Dumpling party and letting people enjoy our grounds, drink our wine and grab some great dumplings.”

As a COVID-safe event, the Rosé and Dumpling Festival will be abiding by state health guidelines.

Ice buckets cannot be offered at the event, but ice pouches will be available for purchase. Patrons can bring along their own small buckets to be filled with ice, but larger vessels including iceboxes/Eskys will not be able to be used.

Hand sanitiser stations will be accessible across the vineyard, while each defined space has a marked maximum capacity. The outdoor bar and kitchen will be cashless on the day, so patrons are reminded to have card payment options prepared.

While seating for general admission tickets is not guaranteed, purchasing the VIP entry option allows access to a shaded VIP seating area.

Howard Vineyard is located at 53 Bald Hills Rd, Nairne.

The Rosé and Dumpling Festival will run from January 29 – 30 2022.

Tickets to Howard Vineyard’s Rosé and Dumpling Festival can be purchased via Eventbrite.
