The Sunday afternoon scene in Adelaide’s CBD continues to reign supreme, and rooftop destination, 2KW Bar and Restaurant, is leading the charge with 2K Sundays.
For their upcoming Winter Sunday sessions, 2KW has decked out its popular rooftop with a marquee, rugs, and heaters aplenty.
“We’ve taken on a Chalet concept,” says General Manager, Simon Adami.
To celebrate Winter Chalet, head chef Trent Lymn has created a specialised list of bites for the bar. Snackable, and notably thoughtful, the menu includes eight new delicious pizzas.
“Picture this,” saus Lymm. “Mushrooms, fior di latte and porcini salt. Or, 78 degrees Adelaide Hills gin cured salmon, riverside egg, silver beet and fior di latte.”
And yes, they look bloody delicious.
Then, of course, there’s the booze. This Winter, 2KW has introduced a variety of new cocktails and hot beverages, with a particular focus on whiskey.
The ‘Lofty Lookout’ is 2KW’s latest warming cocktail with a ginger kick. With a scotch whiskey base, paired with ginger, lemon and mint, this one is served tall and refreshing. For a sweeter sip, they team has created the ‘Rooftop Winter’, packed with aged rum, peach, lime, almond and bitters. Its a tasty, punchy winter twist on a Mai Tai cocktail.
“There’s always something happening at 2KW,” says Adami.
We certainly can’t deny that.
2KW’s Winter Chalet begins Sunday, May 26. Après ski and party kicks off at 2pm. DJs will play all day long, so punters can party well into the evening.
