This weekend, Victoria Square is set to host the return of the Adelady Christmas Village, offering a festive feast of activities and local shopping opportunities. Supported by the City of Adelaide, this event will take place this Friday and Saturday, promising two days of holiday cheer for all ages.
Decorated to match the Christmas spirit, the village will feature 85 market stalls selling a variety of handcrafted goods, fashion, homewares, art, last minute Christmas vouchers, and specially curated pantry items. With such a selection of products to choose from, the marketplace provides a prime spot for Christmas shoppers to unearth some unique gifts for friends and family.
The event will also cater to Adelaide’s foodies, with over 20 food trucks offering heaps of sweet and savoury options. At the appropriately named “Naughty or Nice Bar”, guests can also choose from a selection of popular drinks by local brands like Vale Ale, Bickford’s, 23rd Street Distillery, and Beresford Estate Wines.
“The festive season wouldn’t be the same without the community coming together in a vibrant market setting. Adelady’s Christmas Village showcases treats and treasures from all across our great state in the very heart of the city,” Lord Mayor Dr. Jane Lomax-Smith said.
The kiddies can soak up the fun in the free Betty’s Burgers Kids’ Zone, featuring activities like face painting, letter-writing to the North Pole, and an opportunity to meet Father Christmas. Meanwhile, the adults can live it up at the Credit Union SA Community Stage with live performances by Peter Combe, Jenna with the Pink, Tommy Tequila, Dance Electric, Tony & The Sparks, and the Woodville High School Choir, winners of the Credit Union SA stage giveaway.
Shaping up to be a highlight of this year’s festive season, the Christmas markets this weekend promise an unforgettable celebration of community spirit and local business.
