The City of Port Adelaide Enfield have announced the grand opening of the new Polonia Reserve in Croydon Park.
This long-awaited community reserve, developed on the former grounds of Croydon Football Club, is now ready to welcome visitors to enjoy its green spaces.
The project became a necessity when the new South Road freeway divided the soccer pitch of Croydon Football Club. With dedication and planning, the club was relocated slightly further north to the new Regency Reserve.

The highlight of the Polonia Reserve is its playground which boasts a five-way swing, accessible spinner, trampoline, rockers, and a custom play dome, providing a diverse range of play experiences for children of all abilities. Nature play elements and a learn-to-ride track encourage youngsters to connect with nature and embrace outdoor activities.
Sports enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy with the inclusion of 3-on-3 basketball courts, perfect for friendly competition and physical exercise. Families can make the most of their time with BBQ facilities, shelters, and toilets conveniently available on-site.
Polonia Reserve also stands as a testament to sustainable design, doubling up as a stormwater detention basin during heavy rains, preventing flooding and supporting the health of the local stormwater system.
The shining star of the reserve is the three-level soccer ball play structure, an impressive 7-meter-tall and 12-meter-wide sculpture paying homage to the area’s soccer heritage.
Custom-designed and built in collaboration with local business Iguana Creative, this play element features two slides, a lookout platform, climbing structures, fire poles, and an interactive ticket booth. Illuminated from the exterior, the soccer ball playground is just as mesmerizing during the day as it is at night.
With the weather getting sunnier, it’s the perfect time to check it out.
You can find the Polonia Reserve Playground at 7 Essex Cres, Croydon Park.
