Raconteurs of swing and purveyors of pop, California Crooners Club, have a brand new single ‘I Need You’ and are ready to put the spring back in your step!
The band was first conceptualised by Hugh Sheridan and born from late night collaborations in the jazz bars of Hollywood. California Crooners Club performed their first shows last year at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. They were the absolute hit of the season, selling out all their shows and being awarded ” 2016 Pick of the Fringe” and “2016 Critics Circle Prize”. The band’s mix of banter and belters resonated with both critics and audience alike!
California Crooners Club are a musical cocktail of traditional jazz, original and classic songs mashed with modern pop masters, all flipped on their proverbial heads with the swoon and croon from the charmers up front – this tour being Australian Hugh Sheridan, South African Emile Welman and introducing to their ‘Club’ this season, Johnny Manuel from the US.
The new California Crooners Club single ‘I Need You’ was written by Hugh Sheridan, the ridiculously talented Kate Miller-Heidke, Ben Wright Smith and Michael Darcy, who is also on production duties. It has been recorded by Hugh, Emile and original Crooner, Gabe Roland.
‘I Need You’ is released this Friday, March 3. They are currently performing a season at Adelaide Fringe with the final shows this week, and a one night only, special appearance tomorrow night in Sydney at The Beresford, Surry Hills.
