The leaves have turned, the air is crisp and our coats have made their way from the depths of our wardrobes back onto our persons. All of this can only mean one thing, Winter has returned.

And with the cooler weather, we’re obviously drawn to warming foods. You know the ones. The ones that feel like a warm hug and heat you up from your belly all the way to your soul. Soups and stews are what initially spring to mind but have you ever considered a big steaming bowl of chili?

Chili by name but not by nature, this simple dish of mince, beans and spices is the ultimate Tex-Mex dish originating in the US state of Texas in the 19th century. While a household staple in the States, unfortunately, chili isn’t that big over here in the land of Oz but we’ve hunted down a spot where you can get the hearty dish and a good one at that!

Coffylosophy, known for its monster Beast Breakfast, is now home to the tastiest chili this side of the North Atlantic. Traditionally made with beef mince (Chili con carne does translate to chili with meat after all), Coffylosphy is slinging both a conventional version AND a vegetarian option.

A spicy combination of mince or veggies mixed in with beans, tomatoes and a special blend of house spices topped with all the best trimmings of corn chips, shredded cheese, sour cream and pico de gallo.

This warm hug in a bowl will be available all winter long and can be perfectly accompanied by one of Coffylosphy’s famous Belgian hot chocolates or a beautiful pot of tea.

Winners of the City Awards 2020 for the Best Coffee Spot in Adelaide, the quaint CBD café is the perfect spot to snuggle up and watch the winter world pass by.

Coffylosophy is located at 198A Hutt St, Adelaide.
