Metro Fresh Findon, the orange and black fruit and veg shop the community knows and loves, has been recognised as the Best Established Family Business for South Australia and the Northern Territory at the Family Business Association Excellence Awards. This award celebrates the hard work, dedication, and passion that the family has poured into their business for more than 35 years.
“It’s an amazing achievement for us to be recognised and to know that all our hard work and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed,” Manager of Metro Fresh Findon Jessica Manov says.
Metro Fresh Findon has a rich family history as a fourth-generation business in the fruit and vegetable industry. It started with Jessica’s grandparents, who were market gardeners. Jessica’s parents, Michael and Enza, built on those humble beginnings by owning and operating the store, which has since grown four times the size. Today, they work alongside Jessica, multiple family members and their grandchildren, keeping the family legacy alive.
Over the years, Metro Fresh Findon has grown from a small fruit and vegetable store into a one-stop shop in the western suburbs. While they are well-known for their fresh produce, they offer so much more like groceries, cheeses, nuts, gourmet grazing boxes and platters, freshly made juices and ready-made meals.
Their growth includes a full digital store, making shopping convenient for customers, as well as wholesale services for local restaurants and cafes. They’ve also introduced an in-house florist, Lily West, and are known for their beautiful flower bunches.
“We truly are a one-stop shop. We are more than just a fruit and veg shop; we have got so many other facets that are involved in our onion layer,” Jessica says. “You can come to us for your weekly shop, your groceries, your platters, for any gift ideas, for your pantry items – we really do have everything covered.”
