Iconic homewares brand, salt&pepper, to launch first interstate store in Adelaide

Household brand salt&pepper is opening its first interstate store in Adelaide. Located in the Tea Tree Plaza, the store will be launching on 28 April.

Much-loved Australian household brand salt&pepper is bringing their range of kitchen and homewares to Adelaide’s Tea Tree Plaza – the first interstate expansion for the Australian grown and family-owned business.

The new Tea Tree Plaza store is salt&pepper’s largest retail location yet, with the store opening to debut the brand’s eagerly anticipated Autumn/Winter ranges featuring beautiful designs for every room of the house.

While most brands looking to expand might head to the shores of Sydney or the banks of Brisbane, for salt&pepper there has always been a connection to the city of churches.

“We have family roots in Adelaide with my father’s sister living in Adelaide. It has always had a special place in our hearts! It made sense for us to open our first interstate store at Tea Tree Plaza – the centre itself very much aligns with our business and loyal customer base,” said Harry Pourounidis, Managing Director and CEO of Bambis.

“While our brand’s eCommerce has expanded significantly over the last couple of years, our focus now is on growing our bricks and mortar footprint with our retail presence. Tea Tree Plaza represents our second retail store opening in 2022, our first interstate store and a very exciting time for our business overall,” said Harry.

Harry’s father, Bambis Pourounidis, moved to Australia in 1956 from Greece and started curating homewares. As a candlemaker with a keen eye for beautiful items and kitchenwares, Bambis gathered a collection that could be weaved into any Australian home.

His children lovingly carried on this legacy, launching salt&pepper in 1995, which has been a family staple located in Melbourne (and online), until now.

Be it homewares from the Amana collection, new fragrances in Spa & Wanderlust and of course salt&pepper’s ‘always on’ favourites in Winston & Vera Glassware, it is the perfect place for locals to shop their expanding range from homewares, to candles, diffusers, games, barware, home décor, bathroom, outdoor entertaining and beyond, and especially occasions like Easter and Mother’s Day just around the corner.

The salt&pepper Tea Tree Plaza store is located at Shop 139/140 in the centre on 976 North East Road, Modbury SA. The opening weekend event kicks off from Thursday 28th April to Sunday 1st May, 2022.
