Iconic Slowdown Heads To The Parade This Father’s Day

For the first time ever, this year’s Slowdown will be played at Norwood Oval, holding an exciting match between the Slowdown All Stars vs SANFL Legends.

Adelaide’s love for footy and a Crows vs Power Showdown is no secret, and this year’s highly anticipated Slowdown is no different.

We’ll be showing our Dads what true love is, and also scoring a few brownie points by taking him along to this year’s Slowdown, which falls on Father’s Day this year at Norwood Oval.

It’s the first time in ‘Slowdown’ history that this annual match has been played at Norwood Oval.

The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, together with the Norwood Parade Precinct Committee are  supporting the Little Heroes Foundation’s Slowdown XVII on Sunday 3 September.

“Having the Slowdown here in Norwood presents not only a great day out for Dad, families and friends, but opportunities for local businesses,” said Mayor Robert Bria.

“Coinciding with Father’s Day, I encourage local businesses, particularly around The Parade Precinct, to get involved as thousands of spectators flock to the Oval.”

With SANFL Legends taking on former Crows and Port Adelaide players in the Slowdown All Stars, spectators can expect a great day out.

Entry is $5 (under 12 by gold coin) and all proceeds with the events raising funds for the ‘Little Heroes Care’ program.

“Our community is passionate about giving back so it’s fitting that this event supports a practical assistance program for children and families.”

“I look forward to an exciting game, seeing our local businesses get involved and keen football supporters come together at the iconic Norwood Oval, all for a great cause.”
