Queens of the Stone Age are heading back Down Under, with the iconic US rock outfit announcing a huge Australia and New Zealand tour that will begin right here in Adelaide this December.
Presented by Live Nation and Double J, the seven-date tour will see the crew launch their highly anticipated run at The Drive on Tuesday, December 8th, before travelling to Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and Auckland.
Joining them for the entire tour are legendary alternative rock pioneers Primus and acclaimed Australian experimental art-punk outfit Tropical Fuck Storm, making for one of the biggest rock line-ups of the year.
The announcement marks Queens of the Stone Age’s first Australian shows since 2024 and gives local fans the chance to experience an all-new live production following the band’s current European tour with System of a Down, upcoming US dates alongside Foo Fighters and a headline performance in Iceland later this year.
The tour also follows the release of the band’s brand-new single, “Easy Street”, their first new music since 2023’s critically acclaimed album In Times New Roman.
The track, which debuted live during last year’s Catacombs tour, showcases a more stripped-back side of the band, blending acoustic guitar, psychedelic synths and layered harmonies. Country-rock artist Nikki Lane features on vocals, adding a gritty contrast to Josh Homme’s unmistakable lead.
The accompanying music video, directed by Tony Wolski and Christopher Gruse from a concept by Josh Homme, delivers the band’s trademark offbeat humour, following a bruised Josh being pursued by an eccentric cast of characters before ending with an unexpected twist celebrating outsiders.
Few modern rock bands have built a catalogue as influential as Queens of the Stone Age. Since emerging from California’s desert rock scene in the late 1990s, the band has become known for era-defining albums including Rated R, Songs for the Deaf, Lullabies to Paralyze and …Like Clockwork, alongside hits such as “No One Knows”, “Go With the Flow”, “Little Sister” and “The Way You Used to Do”.
Artist and Mastercard presales begin on Thursday, July 16th at 11am, followed by the Live Nation presale from Friday, July 17th at 11am. General public tickets go on sale at 11am on Monday, July 20th.
With a brand-new show, fresh music and two powerhouse support acts, Queens of the Stone Age’s Adelaide performance is shaping up to be one of the biggest live rock events of the summer.
