Santos Tour Down Under Race Director Mike Turtur today announced the event’s new sponsorship deal with IG Markets, the country’s leading CFD (Contract for Difference) provider.

“We are delighted to welcome aboard IG Markets as a sponsor for the Santos Tour Down Under. This three-year deal will give IG Markets the naming rights to Stages 1 and 2 of the race,” says Mike Turtur.

“This partnership will be an added boost to South Australia’s efforts in reaching out to a more global audience through our biggest sporting event, and showcasing what we have to offer as a tourism destination.”

IG Markets is recognised as the country’s leading CFD provider and has an established presence in many key markets around the world, including Europe, US, Japan and Singapore.

The sponsorship deal with IG Markets will see Stages 1 and 2 of the Santos Tour Down Under renamed IG Markets Stage 1 and IG Markets Stage 2 respectively.

“We are delighted to be associated with cycling on a world scale, and so were thrilled to recently announce our global sponsorship of Team Sky,” says Mr Tamas Szabo, Chief Executive Officer, IG Markets Australia.

“Today, we are very happy to say that as Australia’s No.1 CFD Provider, we are also proud to be sponsoring Stages 1 and 2 of Australia’s premier cycling event.

“Cycling is not only enjoying a renaissance, it also registers well with our target market. We are sure that our commitment to this event will be both long and mutually rewarding.”

Mike Turtur says the Santos Tour Down Under is an important marketing tool which provides substantial economic and community benefits for South Australia.

“The Santos Tour Down Under is our State’s greatest sporting event and biggest tourism drawcard – an achievement which would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors and cycling fans alike,” says Mike Turtur.
