Illuminate Adelaide plan to re-launch following new SA restrictions

Adelaide’s festival of light is looking to re-launch as soon as possible following the new restrictions in place in SA.

In light of the Premier’s announcement this morning regarding COVID Management Plan events, Illuminate Adelaide is pleased to confirm that they are now working to determine which outdoor elements of their program can activate again in the coming days.

Illuminate Adelaide Co-Founders and Creative Directors Lee Cumberlidge and Rachael Azzopardi said: “We ask that you bear with us as we work closely with SA Health in a coordinated and collaborative effort to ensure Illuminate Adelaide is COVID safe for all South Australians to enjoy.”

Due to current restrictions and the situation interstate THE AVALANCHES: Since I Left You, Live with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra at Adelaide Entertainment Centre has now been rescheduled to Wednesday 13 October. Ticket buyers will be contacted via email and text shortly to let them know tickets already issued will be valid on the new date.

All ticketed MAAD (Music and Art After Dark) events have been cancelled this weekend and refunds will be automatically processed over the week ahead.

These events include:

  • The Avalanches (DJ Set) with special guests
  • Unsound x MAAD | Lion Arts Factory
  • Unsound x MAAD | Jive
  • PRIMORDIAL – For Piano and Diverse Media at Nexus Arts
  • Matthias Schack-Arnott’s performance at Nexus Arts
  • Aviva Endean’s performance at Nexus Arts

Lee and Rachael thanked the South Australian public for keeping the state safe.

“We will work together with our artists and partners to reignite Illuminate Adelaide as quickly as we possibly can so that we can light up our wonderful city again.”

“As soon as we have a restart date and further information about the form in which the events will reopen, we will make another announcement.”
