Inaugural GrapeStock Music Festival serves up classic rock at Paxton Wines

The GrapeStock Music Festival is headed to McLaren Vale’s Paxton Wines, serving up fine wine, great music from classic rock cover bands, and good summer vibes.

Are you a fan of timeless classic rock hits, craving the soulful sounds of Santana, The Doobie Brothers, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and the legendary Jimi Hendrix? Now, imagine combining that musical magic with the pleasure of sipping your favourite wine under the golden afternoon sun at the GrapeStock Music Festival.

Held at McLaren Vale’s Paxton Wines this February 10th, the festival will be a vintage afternoon of classic rock under the vines from some of SA’s best tribute bands.

“After the success of Strawberry Dreams Forever in 2023 and live music being integral to what we do, we were delighted when GrapeStock Music Festival chose us to host its inaugural concert,” Benjamin Hunter from Paxton Wines says.

“It’s the ideal spot for an event like this. The stage will be set on the lush green strip nestled between our welcoming cellar door and the Pavilion, looking down on an amphitheater of expansive lawns. It’s the perfect backdrop with a laid-back ambiance to really enjoy the music.”

You’ll need to gear up for a great day of tunes, with a strong lineup of ‘Dino Jag & The Mighty Big’ delivering the timeless Santana and Doobie Brothers classics.

Dino Jag is an international award-winning singer-songwriter and Australian chart-topper with an unmistakable voice and performance energy who gained much international recognition following the release of his critically acclaimed ‘Breakthrough’ album in 2016. Last year he was nominated for the 2023 People’s Choice Awards.

There will also be ‘Hey Tonight’ reviving CCR’s greatest hits, ‘Third Stone’ with the electrifying Jimi Hendrix Experience and DJ Simon Lee.

“Music and wine are such a wonderful match and concerts at wineries are a great thing for South Australia,” Benjamin says.

And Paxton Winery is one of the best to enjoy the whole exeprience. Established in 1979, Paxton is a family owned wine company who have nurtured their own vineyards in McLaren Vale for three decades. In 2011, Paxton became a fully certified organic and biodynamic wine producer and in 2005 it opened its cellar door at Landcross Farm which is where the GrapeStock Music Festival will be held.

“We’re thrilled and really looking forward to hosting it right here at Paxton Wines,” Benjamin says.

Other than music, you’ll find Adelaide’s very own DoughBalls serving up woodfired pizzas and sweet and savoury doughballs, and Loud Burger Co. serving up delicious American Burger creations.

There will also be a super groovy retro clothes stall to browse through on the day as well.

Bring your rugs and chairs and set up for a great day of music, food, and beverages.
